Kadima’s Annual High Holiday Food Drive

The Social Action Committee is sponsoring its annual High Holiday Food Drive in September. Please drop off your donations at High Holiday services on September 12, 13, 20 or 21. What we collect will be distributed to The Ark’s Food Pantry in Northbrook. The Ark feeds our vulnerable suburban neighbors. Safety net agencies like The Ark have been asked to fill the gaps that the recent increases in food prices and reductions and restrictions in government SNAP benefits have caused. Community support remains crucial in helping The Ark bridge these gaps so the growing numbers of vulnerable families who are facing food insecurity and instability do not face hunger alone. The Ark has served over 400 households and 3,400 individuals via pantries this past year. Thank you in advance for your generous donations.

Two Opportunities to Provide Food to People in Need

Purim is a time to donate food to people in need. You have two opportunities to do so. We will be collecting food for the Ark’s suburban food pantry (see list of items needed below) and/or you can volunteer at Kadima’s next Waukegan Soup Kitchen date on Saturday 3/14/26 from 4-7pm.

We will collect food drive donations during the Shabbat service on March 6th or at the Rabbi’s Saturday morning class on March 7th. For those who want to participate in the food drive but are unable to personally drop off food, you may contribute via Amazon as described below.

Please contact office@nrck.org or call 847-229-9500 with any questions or if interested in volunteering at the Soup Kitchen.
